Profile

Dr. Kong holds a Ph.D. in Workforce Development and Education with a minor in Research Methodology and Statistics and a Master of Arts in Business Technology Education from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Turkish from Han-Kuk University of Foreign Studies in Seoul, Korea. Her work experience and research interests lay primarily in the area of human resource development, focusing on instructional systems design, web-based training, and training evaluation: bridging the gap between HRD theory and practice, applying adult learning theories to instructional systems design, facilitating web-based curriculum and course materials in a timely manner using a variety of instructional methodologies and techniques, assessing and evaluating training programs (specialization: financial benefit analysis), conducting performance analysis for individual and organizational performance improvement, and coordinating training programs to improve employees' job skills, work environment, and motivation. She has presented and published many research papers on the topics of instructional learning theories, effective teaching and learning for adult learners, the facilitation of Web-based training, training evaluation theory and practices, cost-effectiveness of training programs, hybrid learning, and competency-based education.
